Are there "profiles", or what would you suggest for a shared vacation smarthome?

I live in my own home and have everything setup to work perfectly when I am here. ie. Lights on/off per my schedule, presence sensors based on my location, things to turn on and off when I leave the house or am on my way home etc. It's taken me a long time to perfect this and I am very happy with it.

Now - I am going away for the winter - and going to be renting the place out while I am away. My automations probably won't work for whoever stays here so I would like to revert MOST switches etc to manual operation only, but not all. But I don't want to have to redo it all again when I come back. Is there a way to create "profiles" or like a setup I can have for when I am here, and one for when guests are here? Or how would you manage that? Thanks.

I don't think there are profiles in the sense you mean... sort of like a reload of rules and parameters for a second person. But much of what you need to do could be accomplished with a combination of other methods, perhaps use modes to determine who the occupant is, and modify automatons to work differently depending on which mode was active. People have done similar things when house guests visit, etc. It will be interesting to see what others recommend.

To me, this is the easiest solution. Make a new mode for "guest" occupancy, and maybe leave them a button or some other method (double tap a switch?) to change to their guest mode in case you aren't available to change from accidental activation of your modes.

You can also disable rules that automate things you don't want automated. Maybe even a master rule to enable/disable the rules.
