Alright, hopefully an easy/silly one but searched a little and actually having a hard time confirming the answer. If I created a dashboard to give a contractor (or name your other use case or choice, dog-sitter, whatever) access to a single or sub-set of devices, is the API key in the link limited to JUST that dashboard? Or if they were savvy enough could they poke around and get to other stuff with that key? When I was done with them and deleted the dashboard would that key be gone forever or somehow still associated with the hub?
Or is there a better way to give temporary access to a control I'm missing?
If you are on the current platform version and didn't enable any options to change this (e.g., "Allow logo click to go back to Dashboard menu"), that is how it should work. If you have existing dashboards, I'd check this setting, and if you aren't on the current platform version, I'd suggest upgrading.
This kind of thing was also the idea behind "per user dashboards" in the past, which I think are still available though not widely discussed, and then you can revoke their access token at any time, with each user (or maybe user+dashboard combo? I don't remember how it was implemented) having their own access token, so revoking one won't affect the others.
Nice. I usually do pretty good about keeping the platform version up to date, so should be good. Appreciate the reply, I will double check the settings/options and give it a test.
