The list of compatible devices includes the "5 Zone Remote and Dimmer - ZB-5001" but when I click on the link, it is not in the the Join and Reset Instructions page (maybe because it is too straightforward that it doesn't require additional instructions?).
On the other hands I went across some posts indicating these remotes won't work - could be the posts are old.
Hence the question: Is the listed ZB-5001 fully supported and if yes, will the ZB-5004 work with the same driver since they look identical to me?
All I'm looking for is a remote full of buttons so I can turn things on and off without leaving the couch
@embrito The best thing to do when adding any remote is turn on the logging page in a different window and start pressing buttons. See what pops up. Although the ZB-5001 is visually laid out as a 5 zone on/off remote you will see that Hubitat goes one step further and turns it into a 10 button remote. Each with a press/hold/release function.
To answer the discovery question, the ZB-5001 will default to the RGBgenie Button Controller driver when discovered. This is the correct one. What the buttons do is then assigned in the Button Controllers app.
Today my ZB-5001 arrived but I couldn't pair it.
First time it tried it was found by HE and assigned the proper driver (RGBgenie Button Controller) but for some reason the device page doesn't show any information regarding its buttons.
I go to to the Button Controllers, select the remote and it also doesn't display any buttons.
I removed it and tried again. Second time it got stuck in Initializing.
I tried a third time and got the same behavior as the first.
By the way, logs doesn't show anything when I press the buttons either.
