Aqara Wireless Mini Switch doesn't recognize button press

Hub Model: C-8 Pro
Platform Version 2.4.2.157

Hey all - I am attempting to add a Aqara Wireless Miniswitch T-1 Zigbee device to my hub. It successfully pairs and is recognized as a device. However, when I press the phyiscal button, nothing happens. Nothing is logged. It's as if the device is not communicating with the hub even though it's on the network.

I did not install any custom driver as I understand that this device should be supported natively. I also did not use any Aquara hub or app.

When adding the device both as a recognized compatible device or as a manual generic device, Hubitat at first recognizes it as an Aqara Water Sensor, and I have to change the device type.

If I test the buttons virtually, everything works as expected. An event is logged and a test rule that I created fires. But if I click the button on the device, nothing happens. Help?

Could you please update to the latest platform version and report back if the problem persists.

Thanks. I updated to version 2.4.3.133, factory reset and removed the device, and re-added it. The results are the same - first recognized as a water sensor, then after updating the device type and reconfiguring, nothing is logged on button press.

After selecting the right driver, pair the Aqara Wireless Miniswitch T-1 again to your hub, without deleting it.

Also, please post a screenshot of the Device Details section at the bottom of the Info tab.

Thanks - I repaired the device without removing it as suggested, and then I hit the Configure button again. Still no communication from the device when button pressed. Here's the Device Details screenshot below.

Dumb question - when I change the device type to Aqara Zigbee Mini Switch, that adds the correct native driver, right? Or is there something else to do?

Some Aqara devices are difficult to pair….

Enable the Debug logging option on the Preferences tab and try pairing again without deleting, very close to your hub. Anything in the live logs?

Don’t click on the Configure button, it is useless with Zigbee sleepy devices. These Aqara buttons accept configuration commands only in a very short time frame that follows the pairing process.

Just a thought. The Aqara T-1 is really a BUTTON, not a SWITCH, so is this really the correct driver?

(I don’t have one, so this is just from reading the description.)

The button is referred to this way by Aqara….

Done, thanks, Only thing showing in the log is a configure() command. Still no response from physical button press.

I don’t have other ideas now, except trying the community driver…

I will cross-post in another thread when I am back home an hour later.

I tried the suggested steps, all to no avail. I guess I'll be returning these switches and getting some different ones.

This Aqara Wireless Mini Switch T1 (a.k.a. WXKG13LM, Zigbee model lumi.remote.b1acn02) differs from the same shape buttons supported in HE inbuilt and custom drivers.

Supported Aqara buttons are Aqara model WXKG11LM (lumi.sensor_switch.aq2 & lumi.remote.b1acn01) and Aqara WXKG12LM (lumi.sensor_switch.aq3 & umi.sensor_swith). All three of these models look the same, so it isn't easy to distinguish them.

Better return it.

Ha. Got it. This home automation stuff is not at all confusing.
