I have been using Apple Home at my geolocation service pretty successfully over the past year. However, now that I've "upgraded" to iOS 16.4, it appears that I can't set the locations services to be "always on" for Home. This essentially breaks all Home automations related to location.
Has anyone else seen this issue, and does anyone know of a workaround?
That's standard for Apple Home location permissions. And that shouldn't cause an issue. I'd suggest reviewing the automations in Home. Make sure all phones/TVs/HomePods are at 16.4.1 and maybe restart them.
Don't know if this will help but I have periodic location automation problems and what has been working for me is to figure out which home hub its currently using (if you have multiple) by going into home settings --> home hub & bridges and noting the home hub that says "connected." then restarting that home hub. Hope it works for you too
OK... I guess I don't fully understand how it works.
I had my wife reboot all her devices, and went through all of mine and rebooted, and it seems to work better now, but it's not 100%. I had about 80% success today. Hopefully it's fixed now.
