Is anyone using Hubitat as an alarm system? I had been using AT&T digital life integrated into SmartThings, but lately AT&T has been impossible to authenticate to so the integration is failing. I am looking at replacing it with something that has no monthly fee and has local processing.
I have had my ST hub for about 18 months now but NEVER considered it to be reliable enough to use for security.
However; with local processing and the expected reliability of the Hubitat hub, I am seriously considering locks and perimiter security with Hubitat.
I’ll see how the reliability aspect goes before fully integrating my current stand-alone alarm.

It won’t be a direct replacement for a monitored alarm system but there’s certainly the base building blocks available. You’d have to have all your critical devices on battery or battery backed up (including the Hubitat of course!)
Heheh… I can run most of my house for about 6 hours on my UPS
Critical systems can run for about 12
I don’t think power would be a problem
It is not too common for alarm systems to be monitored in the UK, we rely on a loud external siren and concerned (nosy) neighbors (or in my case, text alerts)
