The Zooz Zen 25 is crashing my mesh again time to retire them. Has anyone used the Eva Logik ZW36 dual plug switches? What are your thoughts? Pros, cons etc.
Thanks!
i believe i am running one.. not 100% sure was when i goto the order link on amazon a different product comes up..
it does not have power/enegery reporting like the zooz
Eva logic is an OEM for Zooz. Not that you will have issues, nor do I know these are problematic, but they are probably from the same supplier.
the dont look anything like the zooz. and dont appear to be the same.
That's fine. That wasn't the reason I got the Zooz's in the first place. I think that is what is causing my problems. I've updated the firmware, Changed the 18 parameter, done everything that's recommended, and within three days of adding it back the mesh is getting unstable again. Just not worth the aggregation
This is the one in looking at
that is the zw39 a dimmer not the zw36 which i think i am running.. and neither of those on that page has two outlets look closely, the other has two outlets but only one controllable.
when i search for the one i bought it now brings me to a minostron switch
I hate the way Amazon does that. It's the one next to the dimmer that is the ZW36.
Z-Wave Smart On/Off Light and Appliance Plug, Dual Outlet Plug-in, 1 Alway-On+ 1 Smart Switch, Zwave Hub Required, Works with SmartThings, Wink https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08BLS9FR3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_DCPVT294AX169VEVY8XA?psc=1
no thats not it.. 1 always on.. means only one is controlable.. unless thats what you want..
this is the one i bought i believe as i can control both outlets..
but not avail
I didn't mean to imply these were the same device, however they were designed by the same company and the firmware very possibly shares similarities. If you are trying to move away from the Zooz stuff, then buying from their supplier is a bit pointless.
Yep. For this specific use case, Christmas decorations that have to share with a Vivint camera, i need 1 that remains always on, and one that I can automate.

weird when i bought it it said eva and that is the driver that installed. now it looks like it was bought by minoston and they sell it./
The other zooz stuff I have is fine. It's just these Zen 25's, and I think the issue is spammy energy reporting. So lack of it in this device won't be a deal breaker.
I have a different minoston outlet, but it also paired as Eva Logik.
I just got a ZW36, one switched outlet and one always on. I needed the slim profile with the side facing outlets to put behind a fish tank to control the light. So far works great for that, light in one plug and pump in the always on side.
I've got one or two of these, have had zero issues w/them.
The Zooz? Or the Eva Logik?
I have 3 of the Zooz. For about a year they were fine, but they were also just about the only zwave I had. Now every time I put one in the network, within a couple days things start to go wonky. I'm thinking they just don't play well with others. I don't have the patience to mess with them, not the inclination to get another just just for 3 outlets
Eva Logik, sorry that wasn't clear.
I do also have one of the zoo's double plugs, but only one and I've set parameter 18:1 and turn off anything related to reporting. In that context it hasn't seemed to have bothered my mesh.
IRRC one of my Minoston's joined as Eva Logik. Changed it to the Minoston built-in Minoston driver that was added to HE and it's been working well. I did have one event where one of my Minostons was going crazy reporting every few seconds, but that cleared and no issues since. I like tha t they report temp, as I use that for averaging temps in rooms in the house, along w/my contact and motion sensors that report temp.
