That is the main reason I love the Alexa Lists capability. Cooking, cleaning, honey-do's, watching TV, on the phone.....Just ask Alexa to add the item to grocery list...done.
Just an Echo Flex in the shop so I can add things to my shopping list when they're running out.
e.g. "Alexa add blue butt connectors to my shopping list."
Finding it on my pc is a PITA though.
Have to use a bookmark, probably nearing eol.

I'm also an OurGroceries fan. Apple watch app with complication makes it super easy to mark items off while shopping.
Use Google and Keep here. Nice and simple and works for us.
I may have forgotten to mention that I did take a look at Joplin off the back of an un-related post you made making mention of Joplin. Not to say it was a "well, if @ronv42 is using it, I must check it out..." ... but the mention along with my venture into NAS' and Synology in particular, did provide a happy convergence of ideas....
So for those using Google or M$, if I ignore your post, you know who to blame...
But seriously...
I have found OneNote in particular to be more than adequate, without stretching it too far myself, and only using it for work-related stuff.
As much as I may have dismissed voice-driven lists in either Alexa or Google, I did find it convenient to use personally.
I do find it interesting the use of cloud-hosted options in this space...
Can't claim to have used the rest of the Google offering like others have commented on. Must say, now that I have played with something like Joplin, even in a small way, which I can manage as I please in terms of storage, this does appeal to me rather than moving back into the cloud-based space.
Still interested to hear other peoples choices.... I did notice in my travels the to-do-ist approach of a text-based format that mutliple platforms would support... interesting....
Google Keep has been the only thing that has stuck for me. I have my work to-do list, grocery shopping (shared), home improvement (shared), vacation packing list, gas receipts, and everything else I want to capture in there. Wife and I share a few notes and lists too.
I like that it can capture text notes, checklists, photos, drawings and add reminder alarms to a note. I can access it on my phone or computer so it stays in my face. I can also say, "Hey Google, add milk to my grocery list" or "add call client to my to-do list" so I can capture stuff when I'm not at my desk.
No automations yet, though...
Another vote for Google Keep. WAF really high - she likes she can add something while I'm already in the grocery store doing the shopping.
This is also a big WAF win on OurGroceries...sync of new items is so fast it's amazing. My wife has added shopping list items from home, and even when we're in a store together at the same time (who does that - just go pick up the item yourself, honey!).
She hates using voice so luckily the fact that Google killed voice support for non-Google shopping apps isn't an issue for her.
I use ToDoist via Alexa. There is a new Alexa skill "QuickAdd" (developed by a redditor when ToDoist pulled the plug on their skill. Price was $2 / no subscription when released. More than fair!) 95%++ of my notes are just quick reminder prompts.
For repeating To-Do items (hvac filter changes, for example) I set them up on Google Calendar with an email notification. They stay in my inbox until done.
For groceries, we were using OurGroceries before Alexa came out, IIRC. It was the 1st skill I installed. As mentioned above, OurGroceries excels at shopping lists. Alexa just made it easier. OurGroceries' skill continued to work after Amazon deprecated the List function.
The critical path always seems to go through me, alas.
Wait a sec, I'm the only resource, so I guess it's resource constrained as well.
(I've been away a while, who knows if this lingo still exists.)
Yes, yes it doesβ¦
Yup - I have one Alexa running only so I can use voice for OurGroceries. Did I mention I LOVE OurGroceries?
I've been coding Grocery Lists (in aisle order) since the late 70s. A mainframe and a 500 LPM printer can whip one out pretty quickly, heh! We raised 5 big/tall/hungry kids so groceries were a top priority ...right up there with laundry (I kept a spare washer & dryer set).
I love OurGroceries, as well. It's in aisle order, too.
Oh yeah, forgot about that. Super cool feature.
