Anyone know if these switch modules work on US 120V electricity?

I saw these two devices mentioned elsewhere in the boards:

  1. AVATTO 1/2/3 Gang No Neutral
  2. Tuya ZigBee Switch Module with 1/2/3 gang

I currently have a ZBMINI-L installed, but I don't enjoy the loud clicking. I heard these Tuya's are quieter. However, they are marked 200-240V on the label. i am on US 120V. Anyone try these on the 120V? Curious how they work. Generally, I am a bit concerned to place any device in the wall for fear of them catching fire because they aren't UL rated. Wondering if I am being too paranoid.

Not in my opinion. I've seen some cheaper electronic modules with dangerous internal components. Not these but others..

I try not to use anything that is not UL rated. As for using 200 - 240 rated hardware at 120 volts.... I don't actually know but I feel the likelihood is very low. AND not being UL rated, a consistent under voltage condition could cause a failure.

And not to your question, but personally since the Chinese govt purchased Aliexpress I would not purchase from them.

You should look for 'TRIAC' modules, for example, this :

... and no matter whether it is purchased directly from AliExpress or from Amazon, Walmart, HomeDepot, or Costco, or ... it's one and the same origin!

Thanks for the product link. Do you use these? how have they been?

So long as you test them and they work reliably I doubt you'll have a problem. As for the fire worry I doubt you will have an issue - they're rated to run at 240v and up to 13a which gives you 3120w. Since you propose to run them at 50% rated voltage they should run cool and reliably, since you are undervolting them.
But you'll have to test an example of the various options and check that things like signal range and connectivity aren't affected.
