Anyone had succes with TAPO matter switches and dimmers?

I thought this was going to be more straitforward than what it has actually been.

I installed all my tapo devices, and added them to my network with the Tapo app, and working well...

Then tried adding it to hubitat as matter devices, adding the matter code, but it has been a headache... I was only able to add 3 out of 9 switches/dimmers, and cant find a way to add them. I tried reseting then, restarting them and no luck...

Arent they fully compatible yet?

Thansk!

What are the models that are not adding? Firmware version (from TAPO APP)?

Tapo has been solid for me... The P125M's. No problems pairing. Paired to homekit first then to hubitat,. Then removed from homekit.

Hi! Thank for asking.

Im using TAPO S505 Switches firmware: 1.2.2 Build 240604 Rel. 122252
and TAPO D505 Dimmers firmawe: 1.2.1 Build 240410 Rel. 163044

The TAPO APP version Im using on IOS is 3.7.106

Thanks!

They should work as Matter devices if properly installed. Firmware versions are the latest releases.

They may (should) also work with the Community Integration at [RELEASE] TP-LINK TAPO Plug, Switch, Bulb, Hub and Robovac Integration if all else fails.

I tried this one, but it will only detect those I was able to add with matter, the others wont appear on the device list. Is very weird.

Best guess: Your non-detected devices have NOT been properly installed to Matter. Part of the Matter install is assigning a Local IP address. Since the devices not working do not have a Local IP address (i.e., same segment as your hub), they are not detectable by Hubitat nor my integration.

You will need to reset the devices (look on web) then install to the base Matter Hub and then to Hubitat.

Even if they are all working with the TAPO ios app? All were installed the same way... is it maybe because I have my wifi network built with 3 eero devices, and the hubitat connected via LAN to one of them?

Definitely possible. Make sure the IP addresses for all your devices are the same segment (i.e., 192.168.50.xx) otherwise they may not be seen.

So, now its working...

Initially I just added the switches directly on t he TAPO app (not through Alexa) and then within the TAPO app, get the Matter code (which was the same as in the sticker that came in the box) and added it to Hubitat... it work for 4 out of 8 switches... the other were impossible to add this way.... So I then reseted them, and added them in Alexa firts (as the instructions here on hubitat) and then get a new matter code to add it to hubitat and it worked with no issues... apparently t hats the correct way, whats weird now is why it worked the other way for those 4 and not the other 4...

Anyway, they are all now working.

Thanks!
