Any recommendations on Blinds or Shades that work with Hubitat?

Hi,
I'm a new user and I'm really liking Hubitat. I've read some of the articles regarding shades and blinds posted in the community and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on blinds or shades that work and automate well with Hubitat. I know of third reality and ikea and wonder what people think of these products. I'm looking for something that will work with minimal effort as I'm not a software developer/engineer but do have some scripting skills. Any links to relevant articles or posts is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I use Bali shades with Somfy motors. I had issues when I used them with WINK. Since the change to Hubitat, they have been working like a charm. I was able to create a rule to close them when humidity is high in bathroom (shower), so hubby can walk around upstairs naked without scaring the neighbors LOL. That has also worked very well.
I went with Bali because when I first got them Somfy and Hunter were mainly the only options. I like the shade fabric options for them. I have added more Bali in the last year and adding them was quick and easy to Hubitat,

Anything that works with a Bond bridge is a good option, now that HE offer a built-in integration.

I am using Graber without any trouble.

Im a Huge fan of Third Reality. They are Zigbee, pair instantly, and even set their own fully open setting.

I am using cellular shades from ZebraBlinds. They are branded Graber and the mechanics/electronics are Somfy. They also have the Springer name on them. They pair directly with the Hubitat hub (Z-Wave). They take 8 AA batteries which, for me, last a bit more than a year. They have a wide selection of colors and fabrics and they are custom made to my dimensions. ZebraBlinds frequently has sales and sometimes you can "stack" discounts - this results in much better pricing. ZebraBlinds staff often participate in this community forum.

Zebra blinds here too and they work great.

I have 11 IKEA blinds/shades. They are supported by HE but the included button will not work once the shade is paired. I use Sonoff buttons instead,.

I also have the IKEA Furtyr Blinds. They work very well, and are by far the cheapest smart blinds I saw. I use a Hue dimmer switch to control them.

If you want to automate any existing tilt blinds, then iBlinds, eWand, and Sunsa are all good options.

I use Aeotec's Z-Wave Nano Shutter controllers to control my outside roller shutters - these will control many other types blind / shade motors that use mains voltage (iirc 24V DC too).

How often do you have to change your batteries out? 10 of these x # of batteries can be challenging. not sure there is better alternatives

No idea yet, but I am using rechargeables so im sure it will be a bit more often. My hope is twice a year but wouldn't mind 3. Ive got enough batteries to do them all on one day for my sanity.

So what do you think about the quality of these blinds? I have a few large windows that I’ll need to order 2 sets per window, so want to make sure they’re worth it before I make the investment. Was deciding between these and the IKEA ones, but these are cheaper so leaning towards them

I like these more than the Ikea and i have both. I am struggling with all types of window coverings with the generic ZigBee shade driver. Randomly gets stuck in opening it closing or not responding. Not sure what to do about that as I'm still experimenting with delays, and just learned about repeat actions.

Got it, thanks. Wonder if it’s worth reaching out to Hubitat support about that since most other third reality devices are supposed to work natively. Not sure why these wouldn’t

I mean they work but I'm not sure if it's the driver, communication error, timing with the dashboard, etc

Only 2 devices actually have 3rd reality drivers, that's disappointing. The shades are a bit different than most due to their switch in the bottom to indicate closed.

I too am looking for blind recommendations. I just priced up one example of a 24 x 36 Bali Blind here in Canada and it was $600 plus shipping. This can't be right can it? I am still a little confused by all the options out there. I know what I want though, simple roller shades with a zigbee or zwave controlled motor.

I'm pretty happy with my Smartwings roller shade. I liked their options and material selections and the prices didn't seem to be too out of whack. I ordered one roller shade for my office to test, then I ordered seven more for the living room and dining room. I haven't installed those yet, but I still have 75% left on the battery in my office and I installed it in the middle of November. It opens and closes at least once per day.

I just purchased 2 of the Third Reality blinds and they're awesome. Super easy install and great prices.
