Any drawbacks to multiple hubs + HubConnect for large house

Yeah, so you can set up HubConnect now for what you want to keep running from ST, and use Hub Mesh later if you add the second hub...

Just to clarify re. this.. what @danabw is saying is that to synch devices between SmartThings and Hubitat you will need HubConnect. Hub Mesh will only synch devices between Hubitat Elevation hubs. You could also continue to use HubConnect between HE hubs of course , or even use both.

unless you illegaly get a euro hub and euro devices and run it in your house? lower freq. should have slight better range lol

The Z-Wave 700 series chips should be settable to any country’s frequency, no need to buy EU version.
