I got these zigbee 3.0 USB repeaters a while back. They are about $10 each on Aliexpress. They've worked really well as repeaters; I have about 7 devices using one of them, while the others have 1-2 devices they're repeating for.
In the same location, they have a higher LQI than the original TuYa USB zigbee 3.0 repeaters, or Sonoff Dongle-P flashed as a repeater. And with a reset button on the device, they're easier to reset than either the Dongle-P or the original TuYa USB repeater.
ive got like 4 of those (tuya vesion) and once or so a year they drop off and need to be rebooted and sometimes even re-paired if left off long enough.. i have now put usb switches behind them so i can do that.
I have one of the Sonoff zigbee repeater dongles that I reflashed to a repeater and it will not stay connected.
I did check the USB power supply and it is ok.
Really causes problems when it drops off!
I have 4 of those. Three stayed connected, but not a lot of devices used them as repeaters. One of them has dropped off a lot. I think the USB power terminals were corroded, so I cleaned them, and it stayed online. I could only put the Dongle-Ps into pairing mode by flashing them, so I decided that it was not the best device to use.
Yes.
Seeing as they are a pain to use, and are not reliable, I am going to abandon mine.
Too bad as they seemed like they were solid and good, but NOT reliable!
My P-Dongles still appear to be doing fine, still repeating, not causing problems.
The main thing I don't like is they are so large/ugly. I might replace them at some point w/something like this just because of the much better form factor of these.
@aaiyar - how do they seem in terms of range compared to the Dongle-P's? Thinking the large external antenna on the Dongles should be a range advantage.
I have 3 of these and 4 of the OG smaller ones.
They all seem to work well with good tx/rx specs.
I have had to replace the original ones with these as 2 have failed.
Just replaced an OG one 2 days ago after a few power interruptions.
Are you replacing the dongles like the ones you flashed for me? The reason I ask is I have one of those in service and nothing ever uses that dongle to repeat. The devices I got them for passes them up and uses a Third Reality Night light that is further away. I wonder if there might be better for those outside devices.
Also, I may be replacing my three Linptech MMWave sensors with the Aqara FP300 so I need something to pick up the slack of those. Sounds like these may be a good option.
Press the Sort button to get the lowest prices. I can get them up for $4.85 each on Ali Express right now. I've seen these, but I have so many mains repeaters now it is not something I really need.
