Saw this and thought it might be of interest to folks... Amazon will add Matter over Thread support to Echo and eero | AppleInsider
Kinda funny that they would use a picture of a gen 3 Echo Dot. That device doesn't support Thread.

I was personally hoping that Hubitat would surprise us with an announcement but no such luck. 
That's just Appleinsider just showing that they slightly clueless WRT Alexa. Amazon's actual announcement didn't use that picture.
Amazonβs implementation is weird. You still have to use a per-product skill, which raises questions about why bother with Matter, and how does one know if the skill uses matter or proprietary WiFi based protocol.
HomeKit just used a simple ID to pair to the Hue hub β no specialized skill. Just choose to add a Matter device, enter the pin, and dine. Seems to me like this is a better way to go.
For me, I really want to see Hubitat support Matter.
