Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor

Looks like Amazon has their air quality monitor on sale, and I was thinking about testing that out vs. my all-in-one sensor. Dropped from about 70 to 50 dollars. Anyone using this device with automations? What are some fun things you have done with air quality monitoring? My concern is that this device only works with Alexa etc.

No Matter what they say, it is still a cloud based sensor that isn't compatible with any other third-party platforms.

I have a few of them. Only integrates with Alexa. Only thing I did once was an Alexa routine that when particulate matter went above some limit, it cranked up my air filter to high. Other than that, I haven't done anything other than make sure CO isn't building up in the house or blaming the dogs when the VOCs go up.

I use Amazon Echo Skill to export a virtual switch to Alexa. I then have 2 Alexa routines: one that turns on the switch when PM exceeds a certain level, and another that turns off the switch when PM goes below that level. Then I use that switch in my air purifier automations.

Thanks guys I am trying to avoid spreading rules all over the internet to automate. I have cloud connections for devices like the Ecobee thermostat, but all the rules are kept local in the Hubitat. If there are two-way communication between Alexa routines like your virtual switch to the Hubitat it may be workable.

So, the air quality in the cloud? Versus local solutions available via Community drivers maintained by trusted developers....

I have two for sale purchased from Amazon in December 2021

$50.00 for both shipped in the US

PM if interested
