I’m in the DFW metroplex. We have about 10 Amazon fulfillment centers and their regional air hub within 10 miles of our house. Even more through out the metro plex. Yeah I do still get some stuff (about half my orders) in the expected time frame, but more and more it’s taking longer. I’ve even had stuff listed as prime being drop shipped from China. That was almost 3 months for delivery.
Nah. It’s not weather, this has been going on for over a year. I work in Transportation(rail road operations across the US Northern Tier), I’m well aware of how weather impacts operations. I’ve seen trains stuck for up to 10 days when a bad storm hits, but there is a recovery. This has been a persistent issue.
Until recently i felt the same way. The delivery has always been my primary reason for subscribing , the other stuff was just a nice ad on. But as I’m seeing the Instances of prine shipments taking 5 to 7 days to be delivered occupying more frequently as the raise the cost of prime, and reduce benefits it makes me question is any of it is worth it.
I have heard for awhile that Amazon wants Alexa to generate more revenue, and I can certainly understate cost to support the service must be high. However I do not believe for a second ther will main rain a free tiers of non AI Alexa for very long once this paid AI version is released. It just doesn’t make any business sense to do that, not when the cost as is is already considered to be too high to be sustainable.
At some point Amazon is going to loose the stance between value and cost to the consumer.
