I use this C-7 for locally (LAN) connected devices. I was using it for a set of Govee lights until they died from water intrusion. I also use it with my Ecowitt weather station and my Camect camera system. Both radios are turned off.
As I am not using the Govee integration any more due to water getting into the "bulbs" - I thought I would clean up the hub. I noticed the Govee lights listed Amazon Echo Skill as "in use by". I found that odd as I don't recall ever installing Amazon Echo Skill and I have no Amazon devices.
As I was thinking about this I remembered a few months ago I was working with my C-4 which only runs Z-Wave and exists solely to connect to a Schlage FE599 lever lock. It also had Amazon Echo Skill installed and I don't recall ever installing that either.
I am guessing that some other app is using some part of Amazon Echo Skill and that's why I see it . . . can someone tell me what it is?
I have never heard of the Amazon Echo Skill app being installed on a Hubitat hub without the user's knowledge... well, except for the following - but it is still user initiated.
I do know that this app does get Automagically installed on the HE Hub if you ENABLE the Hubitat Skill within the Amazon Alexa mobile app on your phone or tablet. In fact, this is my preferred way of getting Alexa properly linked with a Hubitat hub.
Have you ever tried using the Alexa app on your phone for geofence-based presence tracking? That will work without needing any physical Amazon Echo devices.
I have never tried that (geofence using Alexa). I don't think I have an Alexa app on my phone.
I have Amazon Shopping, Amazon Kindle, and Amazon Music (barely ever used) apps on my phone.
