Reason: So that you can better match up colors when your modifying them and are happy with the defaults. Also it might be helpful to provide a "return template colors to default" so that if you get things too messed up you can always remove your changes on a device template state.
Example: I want the motion sensor to show the default green instead of red, and I would like it ot match the rest of the default colors, knowing at least the RGB of one of the other devices would allow me to match it up on the motion sensor.
