As I listen to particularly patriotic songs for my country.... With a particular focus on our first nation ancestry.... With all the historical imperfections that can come along with a statement like that from an Anglo-Saxon citizen like me.... And while I consider some of the concerns I have observed by friends in transitioning to committing to our great land as their home and identity....
I'd like to say to those who may feel like they are disconnected from their home or who feel disconnected from their current home... You have a home of sorts here and an opportunity to connect with others here as an adopted home as much as you need. I'm not going to promise to personally solve (well let's be honest) any of your pressing issues, but any support we can offer we will.
Maybe HA is not a major part of someone's life as they try to find a new life in a different land, but if someone find's themselves in that space but floundering in alien concepts or a culture-shock, there are people here who can offer a sympathetic ear... No need to make a "song and dance" about the experience, quiet conversation in private with trusted friends can be one common entry into any Community. Don't feel shy....
