Just received a notice that the new firmware for the mmWave blue switch has been sent to Hubitat version 1.01. Unlike some other automation platforms the update to ZigBee firmware can only be done when the files for the upgrades are on Hubitat servers.
I tried this morning and so far:
Firmware update for Office-Lights-Blue, Inovelli 122F-0103-01030100 is not available.
Is there someplace where I can find the list of available upgrades? Anyone?
How many mmWave switches can a C-8 Pro handle? I know there are other factors besides a chatty mmWave switch, like the number and type of other devices. I have 13 installed and plan to get up to 15-ish.
I can’t see that being an issue, unless you have the « Target Info Report » (Parameter 107) turned on for several of them.
It would depend on your settings on the switches. In say a "normal" config where you are reporting Lux and Occupancy those are small events and having many switches reporting this wouldn't "flood" your Zigbee network. But as @Sebastien stated you can turn on a lot of data reports from the switch from the mmWave Sensor that can push the Zigbee Network if you configured it to update in a very short interval.
I have looked at my Zigbee network and with over 20 LED Bulbs, 5 Inovelli mmWave swtiches, 10 plugs that report power, 8 Samsung Buttons, and 5 Samsung leak sensors I have never seen an issue with my Zigbee network being stressed.
A quick update. I think I have the Zigbee network stabilized. I dropped the power first to 8 (stayed on channel 20) and there was a significant improvement so then I dropped it to 4 just to try and it’s still working so I’m leaving it there for now.I also downloaded the latest driver updates from HPM and finally did a reset (exclusion/inclusion) on one of the Blue dimmers that seemed to not be reporting motion activity consistently. Since I did all this, the bulbs are turning on and off and all seems good.
Channel 20 is the sweet spot with normal 2.4 Ghz wifi config wouldn't overlap. Too much power on output can inject noise I have been doing as you are I tested with 4 and then 8. 8 provided the best for my home since the Hubitat is in the basement.
Good news Hubitat updated the available firmware for the Blue mmwave switch. I did my first test yesterday with one switch in my office and it flashed just fine. I haven't tested for the bugs I found, but will be doing that today.
