In each room (or to each device) say 'Alexa check for updates'. Display devices like echo show 5 / 8 / 10 require this done in the settings screen directly.
The Amazon Alexa Skill - Fan users - be sure you have enabled fan control correctly. Turn (Level Control on for devices that support it)
More than one fan in the room? Make a GROUP of fan and put that group into the room. Do not put the individual fans in the room! Use Plural for the group - ie; Fans.
