Alexa Skill

Documentation related to Alexa Skill states this: " Virtual buttons, thermostats, and input devices are not supported at this time"

Honestly, if I had seen this earlier, I would have thought twice before migrating. This is a real bummer.

Any time frame within which one can decently hope for these types of devices to work with Alexa? Thermostats, especially, are for me a huge throwback. It seems to me that it is one of the major benefits of a smart home hub that to allow to control thermostats using voice commands, isn't it? I was really hoping to get rid of ST, especially regarding thermostat which are cloud managed in this nonsensical platform...

Let me know, if you can, how long before we can get these features available. Also, it would be interesting to know why. I remember ST also taking some time before making these features available, but that was a couple years ago.

Hubitat does not share any timeframes or roadmaps for features they are working on. I know it is frustrating but that is their policy.

As far as thermostat control goes, you can create virtual switches, enable the "auto-off" function within the device and then use RM to control your thermostat when the switches turn on.

Get an Ecobee 4, Alexa is built in and you can control the Thermostat via voice.

+1 Since switching away from a cloud based thermostat, I'm really bummed not having the skill in Alexa.
