I have nine Aeotec Smart Switch 6 devices and two Aeotec Smart Dimmer 6 devices on my Z-Wave network, and I’ve noticed that about half of the Smart Switches (but not the other half of the Smart Switches or either of the two Smart Dimmers) seem to fail every single run of the HE Z-Wave Repair utility.
The following log message is always repeated five times, at 90-second intervals, for each of the problem Smart Switches:
Z-Wave Node 75: Repair is requesting device associations
Z-Wave Node 75: Repair is requesting device associations
Z-Wave Node 75: Repair is requesting device associations
Z-Wave Node 75: Repair is requesting device associations
Z-Wave Node 75: Repair is requesting device associations
After the fifth try (which takes seven and a half minutes for each of the problem Smart Switches…), the Z-Wave Repair utility seems to give up, as it then move to the next node without ever reporting, “Z-Wave Node 75: Repair is done.”
I have 100+ Z-Wave devices, and every other “always on” device always gets to “Repair is done” before the HE Z-Wave Repair utility moves to the next node. This includes about half of the Aeotec Smart Switch 6 devices and both of the Aeotec Smart Dimmer 6 devices.
The problem Smart Switches otherwise don’t seem to have any issues—they report their status to HE and respond to its commands just fine.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this and whether it can be fixed?
