Aeotec smart switch 6 has no on/off functionality or status?

Hi all,
I have three Aeorec Smart Switch 6-es and they all show some peculiar behavior, or it might just be me…
When using the built in actual drivers, an on and an off button are shown, But they just don’t work. Not even an entry in the log…
There is also a state “switch” but that also only states ‘off” while I’m nearly blinded by the lights tat are powered by that socket, so I know it is actually on. It also measures power, so it is doing something. And also dimming to whatever percentage works. Just not the on/off buttons. I’ve tried pairing in both secure and unsecure modes, but to no avail.

When I change the type to generic z-wave plus dimmer, it doesn’t measure anything anymore, but the on/off button does work. Meaning the lights turn on/off, but the state “switch” stays on off, and the pictogram in apps doesn’t change to on or off. It’s just alsways off…

Does anyone have an idea what is going on?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Serge

Which hub version are you running and what type is showing on the device page? (the "default" depends on a variety of things including custom code you have installed and the hub software version).

Turning on debug logs for the device may also provide additional details about the communication (but not always; it depends on the driver being used).

Also note: When changing drivers it is recommended to run configure once to ensure the expected associations are configured on the device.

Hi @tony.fleisher,
Thanks for your speedy help.
I have a C-7 hub running version 2.3.0.124
As for the device type, originally it was “device” imthink, and i changed that to “Aeotec Smart Switch 6”, as that is exactly what it is.
I’ve also experimented with device type “generic z-wave smart dimmer” -“dimmer” and the z-wave plus variants.

I don’t have too much custom code. Just broadlink device manager (beta), and hubitat z-wave mesh details apps and custom drivers for the aeotecmultisensor6 and broadlink (beta). Now that I’m looking at it, I wonder if the aeotecmultisensor6 might interfere with something…
Since I currently have none running, I’ll see if i can uninstall it…

I have detail log turned on, but as mentioned, there is no logging when I press the buttons on the aeotec smart switch 6 drivertype.

I hve pressed config several times, an then I do see some logging.
For example: the lights were on, i pressed off (the lights went off) and then impressed on (the lights went on. Se below the logging. The state “switch” never changed from off to on.

Again, thanks for ypur help!

I have removed the other aeotec driver, but it didn’t help.
(Didn’t think it would but better save then sorry)

I have also tried to circumvent the issue with rulemachine; if turned off then set dimmer to 0. And if turned on, set dimmer to 99.
But also didn’t work…

Also the button on the device page on the app doesn’t do anything….
