Hello, trying to get an Aeotec Nano Switch with energy monitoring to include:
I have tried:
Including
Resetting then including
Resetting, excluding and including
Putting the device right next to the Hubitat
And anything I could think of except sacrificing a chicken.
To verify that the device itself was not bad, I tried it with my old Vera Plus. It included immediately and excluded without any issue. So I am convinced there is no wrong version or bad device issue.
So why won’t this device include with the Hubitat?
Was this the exact sequence you've followed? Also, have you seen confirmation that "unknown device has been excluded". Last but not least, if you didn't do so already, please drop an email to support@hubitat.com along with the MAC address of your hub.

I tried pairing a Minoston outlet with the same result. Could not get it to pair to the Hubitat, would easily pair and unpair with the old Vera Plus.
I did update a software on the Hubitat this AM so I knew it has been restarted. But I decided to shutdown the hub, disconnect it from power, and restart it.
Then it worked! Either I am falling for a post hoc fallacy or there was something that needed to “reset” by having power off the hub.
The radio can get in traffic jam if too many devices report power/energy frequently or become unresponsive. I would make sure that energy reporting is not set too frequently. Screening Logs (past logs) for frequent events or "busy messages" and addressing those, is the best place to start.
Thanks, and I will do that. But I would have thought that a restart after a software update would have cleared the kind of issues you mention. The part that surprises me is that it (seems like) it was necessary to do a hard (disconnected form power) restart in order to have inclusion work. And by the way, the hub was otherwise acting normally.
