Just hooked it up on the red wire of my dryer 3-wire cable in my new home (not new construction). The clamp read a few moments of a cycle then decided it didn't want to work anymore.
Should I try the other wire or put it on neutral?
This unit worked very well in the past home, hope my clamp didn't go bad.
I am also going to change the direction on the clamp even though I have read that it shouldn't matter.
As soon as I changed direction, it started responding.
Didn't do a full 30min cycle but will in a couple hours. If anything changes, I'll post here after ordering a new clamp.
Edit:
No go, only went for half the cycle. Wondering if these new fancy eco dryers will only use leg (after the cool down cycle begins). Other than that, I have two options.. turn the cable around or use neutral.
