I'm tired of replacing my Ecobee thermostat. Two have just failed for no reason and lightning took out the 3rd. Current one will only work on aux and that sends the heating bill sky high. I have a 6-year-old American Standard heat pump, single stage and multiple problems with the Ecobee and AS not playing well together. Spent $175 modifying the heat pump circuit board in the process. The bee people don't answer their phone as they are all busy and to call back later.
I want a good, simple thermostat for my heat pump that is compatible with Hubitat and doesn't have a bee on it. I want to use Hubitat to control as much as possible.
Suggestions please and your experience with said thermostat.
Single-stage?
Two-stage?

Pricey, but I use the Honeywell THX9421R5021WW Redlink Prestige IAQ Color Touchscreen Thermostat . It integrates well with Hubitat and Alexa. I have two of them and love them.
Thanks! I found the Honeywell for single stage for $100. The reviews were good, and several mentioned they were using it with Hubitat and had good results. This having to run on auxiliary rather than the heat pump will cost me that $100 in a month so I'm happy. Thanks again.
I think I have one of these. How did you integrate with Hubitat?
I could not get the Hubitat integration to work correctly, so I just use the Alexa integration.
Honeywell T6 Pro Z Wave
Connects directly to Hubitat. Integration was easy. I have it exposed to Alexa through Hubitat and the voice commands all work perfectly.
A friend once told me you buy a digital camera from a camera company (ie Kodak) not an electronics company (ie Sony). Because the electronics are simple, it's the optics that matter most.
I think the same is true for thermostats. Buy one from a thermostat company, not an electronics company.
Does the Honeywell T6 pro allow use of other temp sensors connected to Hubitat to control the thermostat operation? (Similar to how the Nest thermostats have the remote puck sensors that can be placed in other rooms than the thermostat?)
