And I suspect it has something to do with why the controller is not behaving as expected. This same device worked perfectly when connected to Zigbee2MQTT so I do not suspect it's bad.
Even On doesn't work reliably and the log has this
Wish I could help, but I am not familiar with that particular device.
I can tell you that any driver that starts with “Generic Component …” is actually designed to only be used as a child driver. Those drivers cannot be directly used for any device that communicates via Zigbee or Z-Wave. Their Parent device is what would have to handle that type of communications. This, no need to try the Generic Component drivers.
Have you tried "Generic Zigbee RGBW Light"? I see you listed it, but did you get any errors or have any other problems with it?
I don't see this one on the list of compatible devices, but the only other Gledopto model suggests this driver. The "Advanced" one won't work with all devices, and the error during configuration may be because this is one of them.
Geez, I guess I've been away too long because that is a noob oversight and I could have saved myself a lot of time had I remembered to check there. Not to mention your time and that of everyone who read this topic. Sorry y'all.
I, for one, would like to see this device supported because it's pretty good (but not great), has a reasonable price, is Zigbee, and I suspect has the interest of quite a few others here.
Don't be. As a Zigbee light, I'd honestly be surprised if it didn't work to some extent with at least some driver. A search of the forum for this model reveals some promising results, including one that seems to suggest Generic Zigbee RGBW Light. If you haven't tried that or seeing what else a search finds for you, it might still work.
I know I tried this driver yesterday but it may have been right after trying an inappropriate driver. I don't think I forgot to click Configure but I was flailing.
Just a couple of things in the log that you may want to look into, @mike.maxwell
