Is there a method for me to add/delete/checking users on my Schlage Connect while away from home?
It seems that I have to be near the Hub device to do this.
Thank you,
Kenneth

Should be able to do anything remotely that you can do locally, provided you set up a VPN or subscribe to the Remote admin service.
Smartthings was designed to work in the cloud so it can be accessed from anywhere. However, that also means it can be hacked from anywhere by a sufficiently talented hacker. Hubitat is designed to run everything locally. That means it is more difficult to access from outside your local network, but it makes it more difficult to hack.
As mentioned in the previous post, you can set up a VPN to protect the security of your hub, but that also means paying a $2.99/month subscription fee for remote access to your hub through the VPN. If you only need access for a specified period of time, perhaps you can start the subscription and then terminate when access is no longer needed.
However, if you do not need full access to your hub while away, you can also monitor devices using either the Hubitat dashboard or ActionTiles in a web browser. I used ActionTiles with Smartthings so when I migrated to Hubitat, it was easy to set everything up in ActionTiles. If I were not already familiar with ActionTiles, I would have used Hubitat dashboard. Using ActionTiles, I am able to check battery life, check sensor status, and turn lights on and off and even lock and unlock the front door. However, I unable to do more complex tasks.
One thing I love about Hubitat is that it has the flexibility to do nearly anything you want it to do.
I’ve had a VPN set up since I before I installed the hub and never have paid anything for it…
???
Not sure what you're referring to. Having a VPN obviates the need for a Remote Admin subscription. Conversely, Remote Admin obviates the need to setup a VPN.
Agreed, for clarity’s sake, it’s probably better not to refer to the optional Hubitat remote admin subscription as a VPN.
Users have always been able to setup their own VPN servers at home to remotely access their LAN resources, including Hubitat’s admin UI, and continue to be able to do so.
That doesn’t cost anything.
Thanks for the clarification on the VPN/Remote Admin issue. I have never had the need to have full access away from home. I guess the Remote Admin subscription serves the same purpose as a VPN in securing the hub.
Thank you all... I'll have to digest all the answers and see how I can do it... it's sort of a new ball game to understand the small minute details of technology.
I'll see what I can do with from these responses... and if there are more or easier methods, I will welcome them all as well...
Thank you again...
Kenneth
You might find the remote admin service is worth the subscription cost. They have taken care of the setup and maintenance of the connection for you.
