Hi, I recently added a Philips Hue Color Lamp / Hub kit to my functional Alexa set up. The Hue bulbs and hub worked great via Alexa, app and PC. Enter HE. It seems that I was able to add the the Hue App (and the Echo App) to HE and discovered the bulbs - great. I scanned for devices in Alexa and now the bulbs show up twice, once connected via Hue and the other time as Philips Lighting. When I tell Alexa to turn off a light, "Provider is having trouble" is the reply, and nothing happens. The bulbs work fine via the Hue App on my phone and PC. I have removed all instances of the bulbs, but a scan brings them in - twice again. Did I miss something along the way here? Thanks in advance
Welcome to the community!
In the Amazon Echo Skill in HE, uncheck all of the Hue bulbs so that Alexa doesn't discover them from HE. Then go into the Alexa app and delete the duplicates.
Assuming you're using the Hue Bridge Integration app in HE, you'll still be able to control the Hue lights via Alexa, HE, and the Hue app on your phone. This is how I have it set up and it works great.
Also, there are two Amazon Alexa integrations. You’ll want to use the “Amazon Echo Skill”, not the older deprecated “Amazon Echo App”.
To enable the Hubitat Skill, do so from the Alexa Mobile App on your smartphone. This will automatically install the correct app on your Hubitat hub.
Within the Hubitat Amazon Echo Skill app on your hub, there is an option to not share Hue devices to prevent the duplicate device issue.
Thanks for your replies. With the info you both provided, I was able to correct the issues I mentioned above. Thanks again!
