Account linking failure in Hubitat Alexa skill

I used to be able to unlink and link for 2 years but now, further attempts to link are failing. I get to the hub selection screen, then after picking my hub, it errors out. See screenshot.

Yeah... that error response is not very helpful.
My first guess would be to confirm the user/pass.
From the docs, it says:

Enter the same username and password you used to register your hub. (NOTE : Social media logins have been retired. You must sign in with your Hubitat administrator email and password to authorize Amazon Alexa.)

Maybe log out of Amazon from your browser, and log back in to confirm your user/pass is still valid.

I used a guest account for the longest time, when was there a switch to require admin accounts?

I tried with the admin account. No change.

I had to reboot my hub the other day for it to let me link my account again.

I tried hib reboot before, but didn't help.

I tried again yesterday and got further along to the Authorize page. After that, it errors out saying my Alexa app is outdated, but it is the latest version.

I will try on a different phone later. These are Androids.

How old is the phone?
What version of the Android OS is it running?

I seem to remember a similar issue with my dads phone, and trying to set them up with Alexa. I believe I ended up resorting to the desktop version of the app just to get things working that evening.

It is quite old but was successful in unlinking and relinking just last week.

I tried it on the other (newer) Android, and it works. I wish I thought of this earlier.

I will give it another few days before I try on the first phone. But, hopefully, this workaround of using the second phone holds.

Okay, I might have a clue as to what happened. Third party cookies may have been blocked during each step. I was able to relink using the original phone. I don't want to tempt fate just yet, but when I need to relink, I will play around with the cookie and site permissions.
