Ability to Include/Exclude Child Devices from Home Page

I'd like to re-request a feature I've seen crop up in a few posts, either as feature requests or support issues, though not recently: the ability to include/exclude child devices from the home page summary bubbles/pills. (As an aside, the terminology seems to vary across the forum - welcome a definitive name from Hubitat for the status icons at the top of the device homepage).

I have several devices whose drivers create child devices: Konnected Alarm Panel Pro, Konnected GDO Blaq, Zooz Zen30 Double Switch, Schluter thermostat, Zigbee power strip, Zigbee ceiling fan controller, and a Shelly dimmer. For each of these I have a choice: I can choose on the master device to include it on the homepage, which includes all relevant child devices. Or, I can choose to exclude the master from the homepage, which excludes all child devices.

The problem is this: Some of the devices (particularly GDO Blaq) create child devices that are irrelevant or misleading to the summaries. I include my two GDO Blaq devices on the homepage because I like the summary of open/closed garage doors and the status of their lights when debugging automations. However, Hubitat also lists whether the garage doors are "locked" (i.e. will respond or not to a signal from a remote control) and constantly shows that I have two "doors" unlocked even though I have those devices disabled within Hubitat. If I tell the master GDO device to not appear on the homepage, then my doors correctly show as all locked but I lose the garage door status. Similarly, I would like the Lights pill to monitor the outlet in the power strip that controls a desk lamp, but not the one that controls the Amazon Echo.

  • A minimalist (and hopefully simple) solution would be to disregard the status of disabled devices from the homepage summary.
  • An ideal solution, at least for me, would be to allow users to include or exclude each child device from the summary.
  • A wishlist solution from other older posts by other users would allow you to choose which summary bubbles each device (regular, parent, or child) contributes to.

Thanks for considering!
