Like the subject says. I guess I need to perform a restore from backup? What could cause this?
Well, my first restore from overnight didn't change anything, tons of app instances and whole apps themselves are still missing. Apps Code folder is complete, but the apps aren't showing where they should be in the Apps tab.
You are probably aware of this but is the master app expanded to show all the 'child' apps?

Yes. A few of the instances, ones I was working on yesterday mostly are the ones still there. Vast majority went POOF
I just went back 2 days for a backup, same deal.
But it gets more bizarre. The "missing" app instances are STILL RUNNING. So I just walked into a bathroom not expecting the lights to turn on, but they did. Checked for the instance of Room Lighting and it's just not there. So these "missing" apps seem to be loaded and running, but not appearing in the app list.
Sounds like a UI issue. Could you post the app page?
Are the apps that are still running in the logs?

Have you cleared the search at the top?

omg I feel like an idiot. lmfao.....
I was working on a few apps yesterday after installing new devices. I guess the UI automatically populates the search with the last thing typed there because I know I reloaded the APP page from scratch a few times.

Glad you solved it the problem (it's what I suspected when I read your post title).
But the thing to be amazed at is how easy and well supported Hubitat's backup/restore mechanism is.
