Brand new here and starting to work through all the aspects of using HE for new construction. I don't want to miss the opportunity to "do it right" as we've all been through the frustration of retrofitting a new home to later be screaming things like "Are you serious?! How is there no load here??" or "Man I really wish I didn't have to broadcast my video over WiFi." or "Grrr... this would be so much easier if there were an outlet here."
Anyhoo... one topic that keeps rolling around my head is security cameras. I'd love to have a series of 4K wired camera around the property for both a) remote viewing but also b) setting zones within the frame which when motion is detected would trigger HE stuff. Is there an agreed on package to do this?
Be careful about using outside cameras for motion detection all the time. I have tried at least half a dozen different pieces of software and none of them has been able to remove the false alerts to anywhere near acceptable in my mind.
Of they are both pointed at the same tree, they will both trigger. It would help but probably not eliminate the false alerts. Definitely don't want use for security.
EZVIZ 4K POE system has selectable sensitvity for EACH - Motion---- Intrusion (where you select zones triggered) and ---line crossing detection. I currently have motion off, and use the intrusion and line crossing detection with the sensitivity adjusted accordingly, I only have maybe 1% false alarms. However, EZVIZ is compatible with IFTTT, they aren't ONVIF compliant so they won't work with outside software like blue iris. Picture quality is excellent though, and IFTTT triggers Hubitat, just no live viewing in Hubitat.
