WOW. That's a fantastic price!

Still $99 USD for a 4 pack here in the U.S. darn...

Yeah, I am going to get a few and use them for outdoor. I have mostly Phillips and Lifx but I am too cheap to risk them outdoor

The cheapest I've been able to find the Sengled Color bulbs in the US are $17 US and they are refurbs. So, I've risked those outside. But i know what you mean. If i spend $45 on a bulb, it aint goin outside!!

Got three Hues outside in the appropriate enclosures and no issues with them in that environment

Another alternative to the sengled for outside is the yeelights. I have the adj. whites in the garage outside fixtures and they have never disconnected and always work. That is if you don't mind wifi bulbs. I use them because you can achieve a longer distance with wifi.

I know, I have at least 20 Hue bulbs outside for a couple of years now without issue but not color.

3 color bulbs for me, New England climate

Western NYS here. Yeah, my worry isn't just the cold, it's the cold combined with wet. Water builds up inside the bulb and then freezes and expands, breaking the bulb. Winters are here are like a super-cold rain forest, super high humidity, thanks to lake effect snow from the Great Lakes. Oh, you're 21% of the earth's fresh water? Yippy! They make it a PITA to get anywhere in the winter. A few seniors die every year shoveling the damn stuff. If you've never experienced lake effect snow, count your blessings!

I was in Winnipeg Canada for 3 years so I know exactly what you are talking about.

I spent the first 13 years of my life in Buffalo, NY. It wasn't until we moved away that I realized the sun was able to shine from December to March! Still have very fond memories of great friends and one hell of a blizzard back in '77! I've traded blizzards for hurricanes...woohoo! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

AMEN!

You have to love a place where you remember the years of the blizzards. Now that they've started naming the winter storms maybe we'll have a named one to remember soon.

I do have to say this about snow...yes it's a PITA but you have a LOT of warning that it's coming and it won't move your house.

Wow another Winter of '77 alumni! Anyone around Lake Erie got hit hard that year. It was so bad it forced my Dad to go out and buy a snow blower instead of making us kids shovel the driveway.

My Dad bought our first snow blower that year as well! Our mailbox was buried in snow from the snow plows that year. My Dad bought a second mailbox, attached it to a pointed 2x4, and hammered it into the snowback! We also had drifting snow up against our front door that got high enough to actually press on the doorbell when the wind pushed up against the drift (at ~3am, of course!)

Oh, the memories!

Have you never heard of an.... AVALANCHE!! ????

We don't get avalanches in western New York State. LMAO.

What does location (western New York State) have to do with anything???

You made a statement about "snow"...

Yeah.... Cause I wasn't talking about where I live for the whole rest of the post. You know, you can take stuff out of context all you like, it doesn't make you look whitty.

I was a Florida Boy in New London Connecticut for submarine training during that blizzard. 20' snow drift against the building covered all our cars over night. Icy sidewalks and stairs took out half my classmates on the way to chow hall and class.

Never again. The horror...
