So I've migrated from a dead Veraplus to Hubitat. Excluding devices was a bitch (not Hubitats fault). Including devices was much easier than Vera. Kudos to Hubitat there.
BUT.......
I find these shortcomings that I think are serious with Hubitat.
I have no way to "know" something has been successfully excluded from Hubitat. (This is after I have a device in Hubitat and then need to exclude it.) You should have feedback on the exclude process to tell me a device has been excluded succesfully, similar to the include function.
There should be a Polling stats page. I should be able to select a device and see how many polls versus how many poll failures. I have no way to know that my Hubitat placement is problematic, or if a device is not configured correctly.
There needs to be feedback when I click the configure button or the poll button. I have no idea if anything is happening on the device page. It should tell me what it did.
All in all as a 1st time user, and without these features, I am shooting in the dark trying to troubleshoot why stuff is not working. I put several tickets into support during this process, 50% of them could have been avoided.
Finally and most importantly, is about a device's parameters. This is zwave stuff here. When a device is included, I should be able to tell the zwave stick to LIST the devices parameters, and allow me to set them directly. From that point I can go out and get a driver (or use a generic) to control the device. But the way you have it set up, I have no access to the parameters and so many of my Fibaro devices are so messed up I cannot even use my switches independant of Hubitat to operate a light or switch. Once it is included in Hubitat, it is non functional until I come up with a driver in Hubitat. Basically I should be able to unplug Hubitat and my lights or switches should work manually. This is a BIG wife factor issue. To conclude, allow me to set the device parameters BEFORE worrying about drivers. This info is available on every device as soon as it is included!
Right now my status is that ALL my devices in my house cannot be controlled unless I whip out my phone, select a device, push a button. Not ideal! Wife factor -10 on this one. 4 days in she ain't buying the "be patient honey as I finish setting Hubitat up". Regardless, my switches should work manually!
