What is "thereafter..." ?

Channel scan is known to be intermittently functional...after some releases some people (me included) have ended up w/it not populating info reliably or at all.

when is it going to be fixed?
why isn't it listed on the list of things to be fixed?
why have it at all, if it doesn't show accurate results?

By the way, I just ran it again, hours after changing channels, and it still shows the old channels.
WHY?
Does anyone know why?
