2.2.4 issues - help!

Have had nothing but issues since the 2.2.4 upgrade, trying every minor release along the way with issues continuing each time with the Zigbee network going offline. With the latest update, the hub can boot and you can get to the web interface for a few seconds before it locks up again. Even if you don’t go into the interface or interact with it, it locks up. It is unusable.

Anyone have a similar experience or any ideas?

have you tried shutting it down from the interface .. unplugging for 30 secs.. boot it up and see if it works.

Yes. Tried a 30 sec reboot, then left it unplugged for a an hour or so. Same behavior.

Probably not it, but worth mentioning - make sure it is not overheating. Do not put the hub on top of anything that makes ANY heat.

have you checked that it is not the power supply, power cable, the internet cable or hub port..

what do you consider locked up.. can you ping the ip?

zigbee can/does show offline for a few minutes after a reboot.. can you get to the hub after it has been up for 10 minutes.. is the light green?

also could be an ip address conflict.. that describes your behavior where it will be up for a few seconds and when sees there is a conflict usually the interface is disabled. how are you assigning the ip.

Yup, I just upgraded and my smarthings presence sensor are going nuts! Arriving and departing every 1-20 seconds.

that can definately cause issues. there is a known issue wiith at least v3 or newer of these you need to go back into the device detail page and reselect the timeout and save it and hit configure.

You can try Safe Mode:

Just a way to narrow it down.. is it this or that... Safe mode will tell you something, even if it's nothing

Zigbee has been going on and off since the upgrade to 2.2.4, no real pattern to when it would happen, as there are a few times it came back online on its own. I could reboot and all would go back to normal. Since the last update, it hasn’t been stable long enough to roll back the firmware, but was finally able to get it back to 2.3.8 and it seems to be working again right now. I did have a screen open up and let me know I was out of memory one of the times it wouldn’t start.

That worked! Thanks so much. Garage doors were going crazy

May I ask what model is your hub? I would stay on 2.2.3 if that seems to stabilize your hub and we will get to your ticket soon, if you sent us an email already.

It’s a C3.

I’ve been trying a number of different ways to get this working. I’m not 100% sure what did it, as I had tried all of these steps before - just not exactly like this. Updated the firmware, shut down and unplugged the hub, then unplugged the USB radio - let it sit a few minutes - put the USB radio in, booted it back up and it has been working.

Hope this helps, as I haven’t been able to upgrade since 2.2.3.148
