1 GE/Jasco non Plus Z-Wave switch has started to not report manual actuations

C-7

Platform version
2.3.9.201

This switch has been reporting reliably for YEARS and it is not the only non ZW+ one I have that is rock solid. Trying to figure out why this one is now not. Any ideas? I've done numerous Z-Wave repairs, my hub doesn't offer the Z-Wave driver update button, rebooted the C-7 several times..... Removed ghost devices about a month ago. I'm missing something but I can't figure out what.
Thanks!

I still have a few of these devices, in fact I just had one die this weekend. In my experience they don't just stop reporting they stop working all together, even the manual switch stops functioning.

In almost every case they fail right after power is removed and re-applied.

Not much help, just an observation, your device is showing 0x5e inCluster, a Z-wave Plus component.
Might be newer than you think.
Someone said Jasco has extended the warranty on the older Z-wave switches.

If it was non-plus it would not report on its own ever. AFAIK only plus devices report on their own.

Did you power cycle the device? Which in some cases may break Jasco devices from a specific time period, but also may solve the problem.

Towards the end of their run, Jasco had 500 series switches that did indeed report physical actuations, even when using an accessory switch in a 3-way setup. I had a batch of them. They did not show the 0x5E cluster though, which leads me to believe the OP's switch is of the Plus variety.

Power cycle seems to be the winner. I did it about 20 minutes ago and tried the switch a couple times manually and it reported right away. I guess I got lucky when I got in to home automation and got in towards the end of non plus. I have GE switches from Lowes with the slave 3-ways that I bought at the same time as this one and those report too. I'm guessing that was in 2018 or 19 if memory serves me right. Thanks for the heads up on the power cycle.... Should have thought about that.

Yeah you normally would not think that you need to "reboot" a light switch to get it working again but I know from personal experience that sometimes that is all it takes. Helps when you have very well labeled circuit breakers.

Sometimes the GE Paddle Air Gap works, sometimes not.
